I’m a psychologist who firmly believes that there is no such thing as a bad emotion. Each one of our emotions has a message to deliver to us, and that includes negative emotions like sadness or concern. Through talk therapy, I can help you discover the root causes of an important, personal question: “Why is it this emotion and not another? Why does something completely ordinary for someone else make me feel this way instead?”
Our emotions are rooted in our experiences. While we need logic to understand the world, we need emotion to make sense of it. With that in mind, here’s a fair warning: I will help you confront your demons, so that you can embrace them. Emotions are hard enough as they are, and I take pride in exploring even the most difficult memories without making the client feel overwhelmed. If you can laugh in the face of a problem, it will no longer feel so overpowering. I can help you – and, if relevant, your partner – find a touch of humor or lightness in frustrating situations. I’ll gladly guide you through case studies, real-world examples, and thousands of pages of research to show exactly how others in similar positions have managed to move forward unscathed.
Psychologist’s motto:
Emotion always wins against logic
