Education and practice
- I graduated in Psychology from the University of New York in Prague and in Human Development with a focus on Psychology from Empire State University.
- I have completed several long-term specialized training programs – in crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, practical use of cognitive-behavioral techniques, and grief counseling. I am currently finishing a psychotherapy training program in the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach.
- In addition, I have attended numerous professional courses and seminars on topics such as guilt and feelings of guilt, death and dying, self-harm in children and adolescents, suicide and suicidal behavior, and sexual violence and trauma. I continue to further my education and professional development through ongoing training.
- My practical experience includes working as a crisis intervention counselor on a senior helpline, in a crisis center for victims of domestic and sexual violence, and at the Social Clinic providing psychological support for a wide range of age groups. I have also worked as a lecturer for preventive programs focused on mental health and self-care for adolescents.
consultation
In my work, I draw on the ACT approach (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). This method helps develop the ability to accept what we cannot control while taking action in line with what truly matters to us. It’s not about trying to get rid of all unpleasant feelings, but rather learning how to handle them so they don’t prevent us from living a fulfilling life. Together, we will focus on what gives your life meaning and look for specific steps that can bring you closer to it. I see each person as a unique individual with their own pace, experiences, and needs. I view our sessions as a collaborative space for reflection and exploration of paths that might be helpful for you.
I strive to create a safe and respectful environment where you can speak openly about what you’re going through and gradually gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your life. The goal of our work together is to help you rely more on yourself and live a life that aligns with what truly matters to you.
